Here I Go Again
I was really hoping that I wouldn’t have to do this column. I have been putting this off for a good six weeks but after today’s news I don’t want to let this go any longer. My father has been very ill on and off since July with late September to now being the worst for him. Today we found out that he has colon cancer and because he has congestive heart failure, a weak heart, emphysema and poor kidneys, the doctors feel that he would not survive surgery for the cancer. As you can see he’s in very poor health and the belief is that he doesn’t have much time. However, how much time he has we just don’t know.
SS/Raw/Jericho
There is so much that I want to talk about tonight. First there’s the Survivor Series, then Raw and then the huge return of Chris Jericho. I cannot wait to tell you my thoughts on both shows and how I felt about the return of one my favorite wrestlers. I don’t want to make this a five page column, so let me give you my speedy yet interesting thoughts about the pay per view, Raw and then on to Y2J. By the way I didn’t exactly shine with my pay per view predictions, but then again I wasn’t expecting too. I guess that is why I handled the humiliation as well as I did. Okay let me get right to the Survivor Series.
Survivor Series Predictions
So it’s been ten years since the ever famous Montreal Screwjob. Is tonight’s Survivor Series going to try to top what happened 10 years ago? I doubt it because I don’t think there is anything that could top that main event, but hopefully tonight’s Survivor Series will come off well and we will have plenty of exciting moments that many of us will remember for years to come, or at least for the next few days. Seriously I have to tell you that I’m having a difficult time with my picks, this card is just a little tough for me.
I Expected A Much Better Raw
Here’s the deal. I wasn’t exactly blown away by this week’s Raw. I don’t know what I was expecting, but obviously my expectations were a little too high because the show was nothing more than average for me. Maybe with the Survivor Series just days away I thought Raw would hit a homerun and give us a hell of a show, but that totally didn’t happen. Well let me get into my thoughts on this average Raw, the last Raw before a major pay per view.
Raw/DX/Austin and More
I loved it, well I liked it a lot, and yes I’m talking about Monday’s Raw. It was a night of nostalgia and that nostalgia worked. The show had a very upbeat feeling to it and if it wasn’t for a few other segments this show would have gotten an A+ from me. The Los Angeles crowd was excellent, and I could not wait to talk about the show.
Cyber Sunday/Raw/Jericho
Whoa, let me say this one as gently as I can. Let’s see, you are missing the number one baby face in the company due to injuries, John Cena. And you have Triple H and Shawn Michaels back; now WWE’s number 1 and 2 top baby faces on Raw.
Cyber Sunday Predictions
Tonight is Cyber Sunday and since the show is all about the fans voting, I’m voting for me to do give you my predictions.
Raw/A Nice Build Up For Cyber Sunday
I’m so happy to be able to write that Raw did a super jobbing of hyping Cyber Sunday. As of late the last minute build up for WWE’s pay per views have been extremely weak. It’s nice to see that Monday’s Raw did what it needed to do by making that pay per view almost the total focus of the show.
Raw Lacked Star Power
Whoa, let me say this one as gently as I can. Let’s see, you are missing the number one baby face in the company due to injuries, John Cena. And you have Triple H and Shawn Michaels back; now WWE’s number 1 and 2 top baby faces on Raw..
Smackdown/Matt/MVP/Taker/Kane and More‏
Okay I will give you this, there really is no major angle on Smackdown, the show consists of back to back to back matches, but some of those matches were just an absolute pleasure to watch.
RAW IS HBK
This is one of those Raw’s were the feedback that I have been getting is off the charts. With just a few exceptions, most of you not only loved the show, but many of you thought this was the BEST Raw in a very long time.
No Mercy Live
If John Cena was in three matches last night I probably would have pulled every hair out of my head, so I can imagine how many of the fans feel about Hunter being in three matches, but of course for me it was beyond fantastic. I saw one hell of a show last night and it wasn’t only because I had a Hunter-fest, it’s because WWE in my opinion went all out to make this a solid show.
No Mercy Predictions
I am so excited about going to No Mercy. And now with the WWE championship up for grabs I hope that No Mercy will turn out to be one of WWE’s best pay per views of the year. Of course the show will have the sizzling HOT Chicago crowd and you know that we are going to make sure you all hear us; well at least I hope that’s the case.
John Cena's Injury
I’m so happy to be back, and I want to thank you for all the beautiful online cards and emails that were sent to me after my mother died. I printed each one out and brought them to my father and brother, they too were as touched as I was.
My Mother Passed Away
So many of you have been wondering why this week's column isn't up. My mother passed away yesterday afternoon.
